Project TenSquare, a 21.2m × 14.4m outdoor LED billboard in downtown Singapore also known as Singapore’s Times Square, invited students from NTU ADM to show a series of media artworks about a positive outlook of the future for the earth, climate change and sustainability.
This event intends to inspire youth to work on social innovation and creativity and take new media showcasing to a higher level for the community and the public. The aim is to create shared values to both the public community and passionate students, including those from NTU ADM.

For this project students from School of Art, Design and Media NTU Singapore collaborated with music students from Conservatoire à Rayonnement Régional Musique, Danse Théâtre at Reims, France.

The TenSquare landmark and initiative aims to inspire, motivate, and empower young people in the areas of social impact innovation and creativity. It brings meaningful projects to the community by promoting the arts in collaboration with like-minded stakeholders from the private, public, and non-profit sectors. LED screens have increased in public spaces worldwide and are mostly used only for commercial advertising. However, when these large-scale screens are used to show media art in public, they can transform the experience of space and evoke sensorial and emotional impressions in passers-by, as well as allowing artists to be “agents of change”.
Since it was founded in 2005, NTU’s School of Art, Design and Media (ADM) has grown into one of Singapore’s most innovative tertiary education institutions. The School of Art, Design and Media (ADM) seeks to play a weighty role in transforming the island state into a global media city. Its inter-disciplinary courses are designed to mould creative individuals into outstanding artists, designers, animators, new media performers and even business leaders. The Conservatoire à Rayonnement Régional Musique Danse Théâtre at Reims can trace its history back to 1793. It is a public institution offering programs in music, theatre, and classical and contemporary dance. The program is organised in cycles. The first (éveil musical’) four years, the second, four years, the third (‘cycle d’orientation professionnelle’) and fourth (‘cycle d’enseignement supérieur professionnelle’). The Conservatoire has facilities catering for the needs of handicapped persons. The Conservatoire works in close liaison with the Université de Reims.
Media Art Nexus (MAN) at the Nanyang Technological University Singapore (NTU) is an urban media platform for curating and promoting media art content by emerging and established local and international artists. Conceived in 2016, it was formally launched in 2018 as part of the NTU Museum’s public art initiative titled “Campus Art Trail”. MAN is integrated with teaching at ADM NTU with focus on creating time-based media for large-scale urban media façades and LED billboards.
