Media Art Nexus NTU Singapore premiered at the CUBE QUT Queensland University of Technology, Brisbane, Australia June 5-7th 2017, for the occasion of the exhibition “Web3D Art Gallery: on|off 100101010, colliding and surrendering: chaos and freedom where art and technologies meet”. The event is curated by June Kim, Research Associate at QUT, and Tomasz Bednarz Director of Visualisation at EPICentre (UNSW A&D), Team Leader in Big Data Visualisation & Analytics (CSIRO/Data61), Ina Conradi (A/P NTU ADM) and for Singapore edition by Mark Chavez (founder Giant Monster Pte Ltd). The artworks will be travelling from Brisbane and will be screened at the Media Art Nexus NTU Singapore in Singapore edition of the Gallery, October 11-13th 2017 The artworks and artists participating from Media Art Nexus NTU Singapore were “The Rose” by Mark Chavez and Ina Conradi, “Face Value” by Elke Reinhuber, “Streak” by Al-Azmir Ibrahim, “The Creature” by Zhang Longfei, “Flow” Debbie Ng, and “Migration” by Madeline Ngai. The highlight of the programme was the world premiere of the amazing and beautiful “Noise Aquarium” by featured artist Victoria Vesna from UCLA Art Sci Center and in collaboration with Alfred Vendl, Martina Fröschl Visualization Lab Angewandte – Digital Art, University of Applied Arts Vienna. In addition following artists were featured: Mateusz Marpi Marcinowski from San Francisco, Andrew Denton and Jennifer Nikolai from Auckland University of Technology, Matt Martin from Auckland University of Technology, Jenna Gavin and Yeohyun Ahn from the Communication and Art Department, Valparaiso University, Anastasia Tyurina, from the National Research University of Electronic Technology, Moscow, Filip Michalski from the University of Wroclaw Poland, Jed Segovia from Parsons The New school, NY and Drew Flaherty from QUT, Brisbane.

About the Cube “The Cube is one of the world’s largest digital interactive learning and display spaces dedicated to providing an inspiring, explorative and participatory experience of QUT’s Science and Engineering research. The Cube consists of 48 multi-touch screens soaring across two storeys. Housed in QUT’s Science and Engineering Centre, The Cube is your hub for scientific and digital exploration. The exhibit will travel to Singapore for the symposium.
